Like everyone else, I too am amazed that Christie Brinkley looks the way she does at 61 years old. Actually, I didn’t even remember what she looked like until I started seeing the infomercials for her new skincare line. Because I wasn’t born yesterday, I know Ms. Brinkley is doing more than slathering her face with creams to achieve her youthful look, but that’s not going to stop me from trying her products. Individually, the system will cost you around $225. They don’t offer a free trial, but they do offer a $49.95 set that includes tiny versions of the product.
First Impression: Okay, this is not going to last me 30 days. I’ll try to see how long I can extend this. It’s a 3-piece system. A Daily Exfoliating Polish, a day cream called Recapture 360 that comes with SPF 30, and the night cream called Recapture 360 Night. The packaging is very pretty, but the creams come in jars and that’s just so unsanitary and gross to me. It also speeds up the oxidation of products making them less effective.
Day 1: Despite the name Daily Exfoliating Polish, there is absolutely no way I can use this face wash every single day. This is definitely something you should use only at night and keep it to once or twice a week. This is very abrasive, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing if you keep it to only one use per week. The day cream is thick and fragrance-free. It takes a little longer to absorb than other creams, but it dries nicely leaving behind a dewy glow. I love that this has SPF 30. At night, I washed my face with my gentle cream cleanser and then applied the night cream. This was a little thicker. I woke up the next day with very soft skin.
Day 7: These moisturizers are impressive. My skin feels soft, hydrated and supple. It even glows. Nothing on the wrinkle front, but that’s okay. It’s only been a week. I have high hopes for this treatment so far. I hope I don’t run out. I’m trying not to use too much so I can make it through the full 30-days.
Day 14: I’ve used the face polish three times in two weeks. It does a really good job at exfoliating and leaving the skin squeaky clean and free of dead skin cells. Gross but great. The moisturizers are nice too. They don’t clog my pores. No breakouts and they don’t leave behind a greasy feeling. I wake up every morning to soft skin. Christie did not skimp on these products.
Day 30: I have lots of polish left over, but no cream left. I’ve been scraping at the edges. My skin feels so plump and hydrated that it actually does make my wrinkles and fine lines look less apparent. This product does work to some extent. I definitely do not look like Christie Brinkley, but my skin is a lot softer and much more hydrated. The SPF definitely helps with more wrinkles from forming.
Final Thoughts: I wouldn’t disregard Christie Brinkley’s products. They’re not game-changing wrinkle erasers, but they are good moisturizers. If you want a high-quality moisturizer and can afford to splurge, this is the way to go. They leave the skin soft and supple. If you’re looking for something to truly treat wrinkles, this isn’t the product for you. I recommend this for women between 35-45. This is more of a preventative than a treatment.
